If you have been following me on social media, you must be aware that I have been painting CDs for last few months and it turned out to be a super fun and satisfying project. After having upcycled more than 25 CDs (e-waste), I have started using empty cartons and delivery boxes to create upcycled organizers. The first two end products turned out to be adorable and I can't wait to inspire you to do some for yourself. Get creative and take your first step towards zero waste solution. I bet it will add a lovely touch of creativity and warmth to your space.
Cardboard boxes are recyclable but its best if you can reuse and repurpose them in different ways. When I decided to repurpose the boxes in my house, I googled for inspiration and created something of my own. The process was fun and very satisfying. If one really wants to go green, repurposing should be one of the goals. These handcrafted stuff also make perfect gifts, but after making one, you might just want to keep it for yourself.
Mangoes are delivered in these pretty boxes and I did not, (could not) throw them away. I had to use them. I cut the upper part and kept it away safely to use it for something else. With the boxes, you may join them or cover the single ones. Its all your wish. All you need is some jute/rope and a cloth or a fancy jute rope. You might just cover it with newspaper and create a collage kind of thing on it. In the inside and outside, you can use (turned in) empty packets of muesli or any other trash to make it more sturdy and smooth.
Cardboard boxes are recyclable but its best if you can reuse and repurpose them. It saves energy and elongates life. The stats tell me that not all the trash is recycled well and 80 percent of it ends up untreated in landfills. Thus, I have found my purpose in creative repurposing, reusing and upcycling.
Upcycling ideas are only limited by our imagination. Even sky is not the limit.
