We generally throw away things after they have served their purpose, lost their sheen or turned useless. But have you ever held back your hand and paused to think - What more can be made of it? What if these little materials and objects could serve another purpose? How can I reuse them? Can they be beautified? If you have had these thoughts in your mind, I must tell you that you have been bitten by the 'UPCYCLING' bug, for the greater good. Welcome to the gang of eco-conscious buyers and sellers.

The old, plastic spectacle cases have got a new life!
Upcycling sounds cool and trendy but what it does for the environment actually makes it uber cool. I am totally smitten by the act of upcycling these days. I do not throw away bottles, containers, packet or broken cutlery, without considering the option of giving them a makeover. And at the end of the day, it really makes me happy to create something new, repurpose an old item and most importantly, contribute in the reduction of resource consumption. Trust me, every act matters. And I will tell you how and why!

Upcycling - 'How and Why'
Start by reducing the waste in your own home.
Transformation of old stuff into cool new stuff, enhancement of usability of anything is a direct benefit to the planet.
No new raw material is used - reduces resource consumption.
You reclaim materials and give them a new lease on life.
Upcycling is one of the most genuine attempts to make a difference in the environment
It saves money, natural resources and time.
Upcycled things look much cooler.
Saves the waste materials going in landfills.
Cut down of overproduction and overconsumption.
It is an opportunity to unlock new creative ideas.
The environment is in crisis and thus it becomes increasingly important to make less purchases, and mostly eco-friendly.
With a little creative effort and some inspiration, one can turn the seemingly useless objects into great works of home-décor.
A lot of us hold sentimental value with our old products, upcycling gives us a chance to hold on to the love and bond.
Its easy for the pocket too. You get more for less.
Personally, upcycling adds a lot of thrill and adventure once you start doing it. I feel very happy about decorating my house with handmade things.
